The phonics program will now be delivered more flexibly.
The programme will be as follows;
January - June - initial single sounds
e.g cat - cow - fence - horse - zebra
July- August - consonant blends
eg. church - fish - shop - scarf
September - sounds of the environment
e.g musical instruments, birdsong, traffic, coughing, clapping, buzzing bee etc.
October - November - rhyming words pairs
e.g. cat/hat - dog/frog - pig/wig
Please help your child to choose and bring in "show and tell" for the above.
